Vandebilt Catholic and Erath bring home third place trophies

For most of the game the Erath Bobcats trailed, and for portions of the game trailed by double digits.

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter where the Bobcats were able to pull it with six on two separate occasions, that the Bobcats looked like they had a shot at winning.

The Bobcats ended the last six minutes of the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run.

To win the game the Bobcats relied on their playmakers.

With less than 20 seconds remaining on the clock, Aaron Green brought the ball down the court and as he was falling passed it to Elijah Mitchell under the goal, a one-spin move later Mitchell laid in the game winning shot
with only seven seconds remaining in the game.

Leading the way for the Bobcats was Mitchell, who scored a team and game high 17 points.

Aaron Green was closest to Mitchell, with eight points of his own.

Justin Music was able to add six of his own, while Jalen Sinegal and Jeremiah Mitchell each added four.

Alec Toups and Ross Bares rounded out the scoring for the Bobcats as each added two.

The first and third quarters have been the Achilles hill of the Lady Patriots all tournament long, and this game proved to be no different.

The Lady Patriots fell to Vandebilt Catholic by the final score of 42-30, in the third place match-up.

The first quarter the Lady Patriots found themselves in a 10-6 hole.

The second quarter was better offensively for the Lady Pats as they were able to score 12; however, Vandebilt scored 12 as well, leaving the Lady Pats down 21-18 at half-time.

The third quarter is where the Lady Pats lost the game. NV gave up 14 points to Vandebilt and were only able to score six of their own.

Leading the way for the Lady Pats in scoring was Simone Pillette with a team high eight points.

Morgan Harrington was not far behind as she netted seven of her own.

Catherine Touchet and Lanie Breaux each added five apiece.

Cassidy Hoffpauir and Lunden Graham rounded out the scoring with three and two respectively.
