Reeling in the emotions

In case you have been living under a rock over the past few days, the VC Eagles won the Divison IV State Championship over St. Frederick, 63-18.

For some of the players of VC, winning the state championship game hasn’t actually set in, until now.

“I still can’t believe it,”said defensive lineman Braxton Cessac. “The past few days have just been crazy. It was something that we worked for all season long and now that we have won, it almost doesn’t seem real.”

For some players, more than winning the championship is starting to set in.

“It was my last game,” quarterback Brennan Gallet said. “The thing that is starting to settle in more than anything is that my high school career is over. It’s kind of a bittersweet moment. We won the Championship and that’s
awesome, but now I’m done. It’s a lot of emotions at one time.

For most of the VC players, the thought of actually being the State Champions is starting to settle in, and now more so than ever they are able to actually soak it in and be proud of what they did.

They won’t have long though, getting ready for next season starts in a few weeks, but that’s something they have come to expect here at VC.

Winning never takes a break.
