Patriots look to get off to a quick start

Slow starts have been the Achilles hill of the North Vermilion Patriots all season long.

The Patriots are hoping that they have cure to slow starts as they host Jennings tonight at the North Vermilion gym.

“I’m stressing getting and taking quality shots,” Patriots Head Coach Jack LeBlanc said. “We have gotten off to some slow starts and I have done almost everything I can think of. So, I’m going back to square one. If we can get some quality shots, then
there is a better chance we will make some early buckets.”

If the Patriots hope to get off to a fast start they are going to need some solid play from their starts.

The guards for tonight’s game are going to be brothers Juwaun and Jordan Windmon.

The starting forwards are going to be Donlad Comeaux and Mike Bessard.

Starting in the middle for the Patriots is going to be Nic Cooper.

This is the starting lineup that has been in place for most if not the entire season, and coach LeBlanc is hoping they have finally figured out how to get off to a quick start.

“The loss to Port Barre was an eye-opener,” LeBlanc said. We had a shot at winning that game, even though we got down big early. The guys are starting to get to the point where they are playing hard from tip to the final whistle.”

The Patriots are looking to improve upon their 9-4 record.

Jennings is bringing a 10-8 record into tonight’s game. They have also won four straight.

The game tonight will start at 7 p.m. at the North Vermilion Gym.
