Honey Bears off to good start
The Gueydan Honey Bears are off to a good start early in this 2013-2014 basketball season.
Up until Friday night the Honey Bears record was at 5-2, but a 46-37 loss to Barbe set them back, but only a little.
Right out of the gate Barbe got up early on the Honey Bears.
At the end of the first quarter Barbe was winning 12-6.
A little bit of a comeback by the Honey Bears closed the gap a little, making the halftime score 15-12, Barbe.
Thanks to a 13 point offensive output in the third quarter the Honey Bears only found themselves down two, headed into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter is where Barbe would put the Honey Bears away for good.
Barbe scored 19 points in the fourth quarter as opposed to Gueydan’s 12. That gave Barbe the nine point, 46-37 victory of Gueydan.
Leading the way in scoring for the Honey Bears was Kylie Coruchet who scored a team high 11 points.
Nya Boudreaux was only one point behind Crouchet, with 10.
Asharie Jerry and Ke’ana Charles rounded out the scoring for the Honey Bears, each scoring nine and six respectively.
