Erath sweeps district titles
The 2013 6-3A District cross-country meet was held at the Quality Sports Authority (QSA) in Erath on Tuesday November 12.
The boys and girls individual winners were both from Kaplan High School.
Ally Marceaux, for the girls, won with a time of 20:00.
“It feels awesome,” Marceaux said. “It was a lot of training, and running a lot of distance has paid off for this.”

“It feels good when your hard work pays off,” Harrington said. “I had a good year and I feel like I will be ready for State.”
Even though it didn’t have a winner on the individual side of things, Erath High School still had a pretty solid meet.
EHS swept the most important aspect of the district meet and that’s the team championship.
The girls team won with a grand total of 36 points, and the boys won with 37.
“It feels great to win,” Erath’s Head Cross-Country Coach Mark “Skeeter” Theall said. “It’s been a while since both the boys and girls have won district at the same time.”
It was the first time since 2003 that EHS has won both the boys and girls district meet.
Now that district is over, next up on the docket for the cross country runners is the State Championship meet, which will be held in Natchitoches, LA, on Tuesday November 19, 2013.
