Delcambre prepares to tame Tigers

In football there has always been two very distinct seasons; the regular season and the playoffs, and come playoff time what you did in the regular season can be thrown out the window.

That is exactly what the Delcambre High Panthers are banking on.

“It was a rough go at the beginning,” Delcambre Head Football Coach Darcy Delcambre said. “We are really young and we knew from the beginning that everyday was going to be a learning process.”

The “young” team that Delcambre mentions finished the season at 2-8, and finished at number 32 in the power rankings, which was good enough to get them in the playoffs and now facing off against the number one seed Many Tigers.

“They (Many) are big and fast,” Delcambre said. “They are very aggressive on defense, but we have been up against that all season.”

Delcambre went on to mention that if they just play their game and secure the ball there is no telling how the game will end.

With only seven seniors on the entire roster this playoff experience will be invaluable for DHS moving forward.

“We acomplished one of our goals and that was to make the playoffs,” Delcambre said. “It will be a good learning experience for our boys and they will get to see how a number one teams plays.”

Delcambre will travel to Many this Friday night.  Game time is set for 7 p.m.
