Four Abbeville men in jail after allegedly committing armed robbery

Four Abbeville men have been arrested by the Abbeville Police Department not long after they allegedly committed an armed robbery.

On Tuesday, officers of the Abbeville Police Department responded to a complaint of a robbery located at 307 North East Street.

There, the officers found that a Vietnamese male had been beaten and robbed by gunpoint. The victim stated that four young black male subjects entered his residence armed with a pistol, beat him and took an undisclosed amount of money.

Based on the victim’s and witnesses’ statements, the patrol officers were able to identify the four subjects.

Contact was made with the four men, who then turned themselves in to the police department.

During the questioning of the subjects, the officers obtained a confession that the subjects did in fact commit the armed robbery.

The four men were charged with armed robbery with a firearm and transported to Vermilion Parish prison :

Arrested were: Damien Briggs, (Date of birth 2/6/94, Address: 306 North East Street, Abbeville); Jason Briggs, (DOB 7/10/89, Adress: 306 North East Street, Abbeville), Alton Brailey, (DOB 7/3/93, Address: 1608 Green Street, Abbeville) and Nathaniel Rice, (DOB 2/6/92, Address: 409 Chevis Street, Abbeville
