Curtis Joseph Breaux
Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Victory Lighthouse Church in Abbeville for Curtis Joseph Breaux “C.J.”, 80, who died Thursday, October 9, at Lafayette General Medical Center at 3:15 p.m.
Reverend Joseph Baudion, Sr. officiated the committal services at Abshire Cemetery in Lyons Point. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 14, from noon to 10 p.m., and on Wednesday, October 15, from 8 a.m. until the time of service at Victory Lighthouse.
A native of Rayne, Breaux is survived by his children, Eddie Joseph Breaux and his wife Elgene of Lyons Point; Ludy Bell “Tut” Bourque of Jennings; Willie “Sonny” Breaux and Glenda of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Wilbert “T-Snook” Breaux of Lyons Point; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Curtis Joseph Breaux, Jr.; a grandson, Evelton “Ray’ Myers, II; brothers and sisters, Joseph “Joe” Breaux, Edna B. Simon, Leroy “Peanut” Breaux, Rita Grace “Nookie” B. Bourque and Emma “Tutty Girl B” Duhon.
Breaux served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Pallbearers included his six grandsons, Chad Segura, Tony C. Breaux, II, Jeremy LeBlanc, Justin LeBlanc, Marcus J. Breaux, II and Matthew Breaux. Honorary pallbearers were his godchild Edward “T-boy” Breaux, and great-grandsons, Bryston and Jayden Myers.
Butler Funeral Home of Abbeville was in charge of arrangements.
