Abshire and Mailhes unite in marriage

Katlyn Michelle Abshire and Tyler Mailhes were united in Holy Matrimony during a 6 p.m. sunset service on Saturday, October the sixth at the Woodman of the World Hall in Abbeville, Louisiana. Mr. Brian Mullins presided over the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Todd and Diane Abshire, of Cow Island. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Avery Abshire and the late Mrs. Theresa Abshire, of Cow Island; and Mrs. Mabel Simon and the late Mr. Lenis Simon, of Abbeville.

The groom is the son of Reid and Tammy Mailhes, of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mr. Raywood and Mrs. Judy Mailhes, of Abbeville; and Mrs. Lois Trahan and the late Mr. Ray Trahan, of Abbeville.

Escorted by her father and mother, the bride wore an ivory A-line strapless organza gown, which featured elegant angled draping and a partially beaded bodice that complemented romantic pickups and cascaded into a chapel-length train. The bride completed her look with an arrangement of cream-colored roses and a cathedral-length veil.

The bridal attendants wore knee-length golden champagne-colored dresses and carried bouquets of white roses intertwined with miniature white roses. The bride’s cousin, Peggy Alaina Hebert, served as Maid of Honor and Robyn Abshire, Skye Holley and Sydney Holley, all cousins of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Nicole Harrington served as flower girl and Wyatt Harrington served as ring bearer, daughter and son of Quentin and Amber Harrington, friends of the bride and groom.

Clay Mailhes, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Colin Leblanc, Ethan Milliman, Roman Castro, all friends of the groom, and Dane Abshire, cousin of the bride, served as groomsmen during the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Woodman of the World Hall.

The couple would like to send out a special thank you to all family and friends who helped during the wedding and months following up to the wedding and to all those that shared their special day with them.

After returning from their honeymoon in Antigua, the couple will reside in Louisiana.
