Abbeville man charged with aggravated incest

An Abbeville resident is sitting in the Vermilion Parish jail after being arrested by the Abbeville Police Department and charged with one count of aggravated incest.

According to Abbeville Police Detective Stan Suire, 6-foot, 6-inch Jeremy Varney, originally from Illinois, was arrested last week by the city police after getting a report from the Office of Community Services out of Lafayette.

The report stated that Varney allegedly committed incest with his four year old biological son.

Varney’s bond was set at $500,000 and he still remains in jail today.
