Herpin, Trahan joined in Holy Matrimony

Kate Erin Herpin and Trae Aaron Trahan were joined together in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, November 16 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, Louisiana. Father Kendal Faulk officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Herpin of Kaplan, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Fred Thomas of Abbeville, Mr. and Mrs. Norris Frederick of Kaplan, and Mrs. Lois and the late Mr. Jimmy Herpin of Kaplan.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Trahan. He is the grandson of Mrs. Eula Guillot and the late Mr. Lenis Guillot of Scott, Louisiana, Mrs. Shirley Trahan and the late Mr. Bill Trahan of Coteau, Louisiana, and the late Ms. Betty Hall of Carencro, Louisiana.

The bride was escorted by her father, Danny Herpin. She was wearing a Monique Lhullier Bliss embellished lace gown with a sweetheart neckline with a natural waist and trumpet skirt. She accessorized her dress with the “Maxine” veil by Sara Gabriel in ninety inches with scattered Swarovski crystals. Her bouquet was a natural clutch of ivory roses, white ranunculus, orchids and lysanthus.

Amanda Landry, a friend of the bride, was the maid of honor for the ceremony. Bridesmaids were Leah LeBouef, cousin of the bride, along with Laina Vincent, Hannah LeMaire, Kayla Fontenot, Danielle Landry and Nicole Vidalier, all friends of the bride. The attendants all wore a Jim Hielm silky taffeta A-line bridesmaid dress gown, draped empire bodice with a ruffle halter neckline in opal. Their bouquets were a natural clutch of ivory roses, pink lysanths, peach stock, dark pink aestromeria and seeded eucalyptus.

The best man in the ceremony was Jamie Trahan, the groom's brother. The groomsmen were Ross Herpin, brother of the bride, and David Mouton, Phillip Jones, Kevin Pitre, Trey Broussard, Derek Broussard and Dustin Bouillion, all friends of the groom.

The flower girls for the wedding were cousins of the bride Anna and Alice Mooney. The ring bearer was Carter Trahan, the godchild of the groom. Escorting the mother of the bride was Ross Herpin, and Dale Trahan escorted the mother of the groom.

The music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry, Neil Simon and Yang Yang Li. The readings were given by Holly Frederick and Shannon Turnley, both aunts of the bride.

The ceremony's ushers were Chip LeBouef, cousin of the bride; Matt Turnley, godfather of the bride; and Blake Bares and Blayne Guidry, both friends of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a recpetion was held at Black's Oyster Bar. The newlyweds then took their honeymoon trip to St. Lucia before returning to Lafayette, Louisiana, where they now reside.
