Broussard, Trahan unite in marriage

Amanda Clair Broussard and Eric David Trahan exchanged wedding vows on November 23, 2013, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at 7:00 in the evening. Officiant for the ceremony was Deacon Jay Bergeron.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kim P. Broussard of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of Doloris (Dibby) B. Faulk, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Faulk and the late Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Broussard all of Abbeville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Reed Trahan of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Doyce Broussard and Mr. and Mrs. Knox Michael (T-Boy) Trahan.

Escorted by her father the bride wore an ivory designer gown by Essence of Australia. The gown had a Luxe taffeta under bodice which was delicately ruched with a traditional sweetheart neckline, the skirt gathered at the hip and cascaded into a traditional chapel train.

The dress was accented with a cap sleeved illusion neckline overlay with scalloped lace detail and crystal buttons down the back. She carried a hand tied bouquet of Fall colored roses accented with antique green hydrangea entwined within the bouquet was a rosary which belonged to her paternal grandmother.
Alexis B. Dailey served her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley F. Burkes and Alicia N. Faulk cousins of the bride, Anna L. Barras, Kristin G. Bradley and Katherine B. Hebert, friends of the bride. They wore toast colored, luminescent taffeta ball gowns accented with a sweetheart neckline, draped bodice and shirred floor length skirt. They carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.

Marcus Trahan, brother of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Adam Credeur, Roland Eveland III, Garret Guidry, Seth Miller and Jeffrey Nicklas, all friends of the groom.

Ushering guests was Christopher Faulk, cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Amelia Clair Dailey, godchild of the bride and Leigh Camille Clark, godchild of the groom; they wore hand made ivory smocked bishop dresses accented with lace, seed pearls and ribbon. Ring Bearers were Knox William Carson nephew of the groom and Owen Jude Noegel friend of the bride and groom.

Michelle T. Carson, Jessica T. Clark, sisters of the groom and Courtney R. Broussard, cousin of the bride presented scripture readings.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry organist, Yang Yang Li violinist and Jared Gray on trumpet.

After the ceremony a reception was held at Magdalen Place. After a honeymoon trip to California the couple will reside in Abbeville.
