VIncent twins sign scholarship with Northwestern State

“Ever since I was little this was my dream. To play on TV. To have people all over know my name and watch me play a game that I love." Elise Vincent

Elise and Adele Vincent signed a letter of intent to become a Demon - a Northwestern Demon, that is.
The Vincents, seniors at North Vermilion High School, become the second set of twins from North Vermilion High School to sign an athletic scholarship.
The Price twins, in 2010, signed football scholarships to play for Louisiana College.
The Vincent twins will be softball for the Demons.
The Vincents were first seen by the Northwestern head coach this summer playing in a tournament in Texas.
“I am beyond excited to play college softball, said Adele. “Ever since I was little this was my dream. To play on TV. To have people all over know my name and watch me play a game that I love. I want to make an impact on my team and help win a championship!! This is a dream come true and I wouldn’t be where I am without Elise pushing me to be better, throwing me numerous buckets of balls in the cages, and even attempting to hit me ground balls.”
Elise added, “Playing softball in college has been a dream of mine for years, ever since I fell in love with the sport. So getting this opportunity to play at the collegiate level is really a blessing that I’m truly grateful for.”
Elise is North Vermilion’s centerfielder, while Adele plays infield. Both girls are not sure what position they will play in college.
“It will just be where I am needed and where I fit!” Adele said.
“In college, I hope to play anywhere in the outfield, though my ultimate goal would be to eventually earn the spot of center field,” Elise added.
The Vincents join six other NSU signees.
NSU Donald Pickett had good things to say about the Vincent twins.
“Adele is a lefty middle infielder who plays with a lot of grit,” Pickett said. “She plays for the Voodoo as well.
“Elise is a slapper as an outfielder who’s very quick. She can handle a bat really well, and she puts a lot of pressure on defenses.
Last year the Lady Demons finished with a record of, 30-22, and second in the Southland Conference. They have advanced to the NCAA regional tournament in 2013 and 2014.
Both girls do not mind spending another four years with each other on and off the field.
“I am excited to be going to NSU with Elise,” said Adele. “We will be able to have a little piece of home even two hours away. I think it will make the transition easier because I’ll always have her. She’ll be able to push me, and be there for support. And I will be able to do the same with her. We do everything together so it’s not a shocker that we chose to go to college together.”
Elise said, “The fact that I get to continue playing the sport with my sister is almost surreal. This has been a dream of ours for a long time and I’m really happy we get to do this together.”
Adele admits it is no surprise that the two are going to the same college together. She said the two of them have a tight bond.
“Some twins split up but me and Elise are really close,” Adele said. “I just don’t see us being able to split up. We may fight a lot, but she is the person who will never leave my side when everybody else does. We love and can’t wait to get to play for NSU and experience new things together. We will still do everything together, even if we don’t take the Same classes. “
Adele is expected to major in education, while Elise will major in biology.
