All-district basketball teams selected

The all district teams have been announced for the state.

In district 7-1A, on both the boys and girls side the only players to be named to the first team were Katie Frith and Ashailee Brailey of Vermilion Catholic.

Joining them is freshmen Ke’ara Charles of Gueydan.

Alex Barras was the only Delcambre Panther to be named to the Class 5-2A all district team as an honorable mention.

In district 6-3a, the first team is made up of almost entirely Vermilion Parish players.

Devantae Davis of Kaplan, Desmond Taylor of Abbeville, Nick Cooper and Jordan Windmon of North Vermilion all were named to the district 6-3A all district team, first team.

For the girls in district 6-3A, Arrayia Starlard of Abbeville and Gabby Harrington of Erath were named to the first team.

VC in total had seven total players on the 7-1A district team.

Abbeville had a total of six named to the all district team.

North Vermilion had a total of five named to the all district team.

Erath had four named to the all district team, and they were all from the Lady Bobcats team.

Kaplan had three players named to the all district team and they came for the Pirates basketball team.
