Vermilion Parish man wanted for rape is now behind bars

A man wanted in Vermilion Parish on an aggravated rape charge is now behind bars.

Jeffery Freeman was arrested Friday in Crowley and transported back to Vermilion Parish over the weekend.

According to the true bill, Freeman allegedly raped a child multiple times between 2006 and 2008. A grand jury indicted Freeman in connection with incident on September 30.

Freeman remains in jail on $500,000 bond.
