VC finishes the football season with a perfect 14-0 record

NEW ORLEANS - The Vermilion Catholic Eagles posted incredible numbers in the first half to solidify a state title win Saturday.
It is the second time VC won a football state title in 10 years, but it is the first time a VC team, as well as, the first parish 12-man football team to finish perfect on the year.
Led by VC seniors Brennan Gallet, Mike Campbell, Drake Broussard, Tristen Kelly, Shay LaPorte, and Connor Menard, as well as key plays from Emile Trahan, the Eagles took down the St. Frederick Warriors in the 63-18 victory.
The Eagles finished with 485 yards of total offense, compared to St Frederick with 206.
Mike Campbell had 17 carries for 178 yards and he scored three times.
VC quarterback Brennan Gallet completed 14 out of 21 passes for 269 yards and he threw four touchdown receptions.
Connor Menard had five catches for 150 yards and a score.
