Kaplan Police Chief urging caution due to rash of business and residential burglaries

Due to the recent rash of business and residential burglaries, Kaplan Police Chief is asking business owners not to leave cash in their place of business overnight.

Chief Adams has added extra officers on the road to be very proactive in catching the individuals responsible and have made one arrest.

Katelynn Cates, 22, of Kaplan, has been arrested and charged with simple burglary and theft over $1000.
Since this was arrest was made, Adams said another burglary at a local business has occurred, so police are searching for another group of individuals who are committing these crimes.
