Jonathan Comeaux

Abbeville man who fled Friday arrested on Sunday by Task Force agents

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Municipal and Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force made the following arrest for narcotics related offenses within the parish.
Jonathan Markelle Comeaux, 35, of Abbeville, was arrested Sunday after being wanted for nearly two days. Agents attempted to arrest Comeaux Friday May 13 on drug charges, when Comeaux fled the scene in a vehicle, crashing into a house and eluding agents by hiding in the area.
A search warrant for Comeaux’s residence and the vehicle he crashed Friday yielded several different types of drugs, to include nearly eight ounces high grade methamphetamine, prescription pills, crack cocaine, guns, and counterfeit money.
After obtaining information as to his whereabouts Sunday, agents with the Task Force, along with assistance from the Abbeville Police Department, surrounded a residence in Abbeville. Comeaux once again attempted to flee on foot, but this time he was apprehended immediately and taken into custody. Comeaux was arrested and charged with several offenses which stemmed from the investigation and search of the residence he resides at.

• Possession with the intent to distribute Methamphetamine
• Possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine
• Possession with the intent to distribute Vyvanse
• Possession with the intent to distribute Promethazine
• Possession with the intent to distribute Alprazolam
• Transaction involving drug proceeds
• Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
• Monetary instrument abuse
• Prohibited acts Drug Paraphernalia
• Possession of schedule IV drug
• Possession of Lortab
• And several traffic citations
Sheriff Couvillon would like to thank U.S. K-9 for their assistance with services provided during the search of the residence, along with the Abbeville Police Department for their assistance during the investigation and apprehension.
