Abbeville man, Eugene Williams, was person found under the house

On Friday, an autopsy was performed on the remains of unidentified black male found under the residence of 209 Ninth Street, in Abbeville.
During the autopsy, the deceased person was identified as Eugene Williams, who was living in Kaplan, but is originally from Abbeville.
The pathologist examined the body and found no external injuries. The investigation is still ongoing pending a toxicology report.
Lt. David Hardy of the Abbeville Police Department said there did not look to be any foul play in Williams’ death. Lt. Hardy still did not have an idea what was Williams doing under the house.
It was still unknown how long he had been under the house.
