Lady Pats snap four game skid

The North Vermilion Lady Patriots travelled to Port Barre in the midst of a four game losing streak, and with district play right around the corner the Lady Patriots were hoping to have a little momentum.
They got just that, with a 46-45 victory over Port Barre.
The Lady Patriots came out in the first quarter playing tough defense.
The defense only allowed five points to Port Barre.
The offense for the Lady Patriots was able to give the defense a two point cushion after the first quarter by scoring seven points of its own.
The second quarter saw the offense step up a little bit for the Lady Patriots, as it scored nine points.

The defense, while not playing badly, did allow 11 points in the second quarter.

When the halftime buzzer sounded the game was deadlocked at a 16-16 tie.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Lady Patriots made all the proper adjustments and was able to show it on the court.

The offense came out and scored 19 points.

Catherine Touchet and Lunden Graham combined to score nine of the 19 points, for the Lady Patriots in the third quarter.

The defense also stepped up in the third quarter by only allowing Port Barre to score nine points.

After three quarters the Lady Patriots were leading Port Barre by ten, 35-25.

The fourth was a mirror opposite of the third quarter for the Lady Patriots.

The offense was only able to score 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Morgan Harrington and Simone Pillette teamed up to score nine of the Lady Patriots points in the fourth quarter.

Even with Port Barre going on a run and scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter, the Lady Patriots were able to hold on for the one point, 46-45, victory over Port Barre.

Simone Pillette led the way in scoring for the Lady Patriots with a team high 12 points.

Catherine Touchet, Lunden Graham and Morgan Harrington each had a hand in the Lady Patriots victory, as each of them scored eight points apiece.

Hannah Dardar and Cassidy Hoffpauir each scored four point.

Lanie Breaux rounded out the scoring for the Lady Patriots with two points.

The Lady Patriots record now stands at 5-13 on the season.

District play begins for the Lady Patriots this Tuesday as they will play host to Notre Dame.

It is subsequently the next game on the schedule for the Lady Patriots.
