Lacee Lege and Reuben Plaisance united in marriage
Miss Lacee Lege and Mr. Reuben Plaisance were united in marriage during a ceremony held on January 3, 2015 at the New Life Church in Abbeville.
Pastor Emeritus Robert Wells, Sr. officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Clint and Loretta Lege of Abbeville. Grandparents include Ronald and Joslin Cessac of Abbeville, Oretta Cooper of Abbeville, and Jody Lege of Kaplan, La.
The groom is the son of Nelson and Nelly Plaisance of Raceland, La. Grandparents include the late Benson and Vlyna Plaisance of Raceland and the late Annie and Theodore Huibers of The Netherlands.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Haley Arnett, vocalist; Alex Richard, keyboard; and Samantha Rouse, violinist.
Ushers were Roman Castro, friend and Ethan Plaisance, nephew of the groom.
The mother of the bride was escorted by her husband. She wore a steel gray floor length A-line taffeta gown.
The mother of the groom was escorted by her husband. She wore a navy blue floor length chiffon dress with a crystal beaded bodice.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by Mori Less with a dress style of 1963. The elaborately silver beaded trumpet style gown featured a light netting with a keyhole back and cap sleeves.
The bride carried an arrangement of marlisse and oceana roses embedded in white hydrangea and wax flowers.
The maid of honor was Meagan Lege, sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Jordan LeBlanc, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Selima Plaisance and Noreena Plaisance, both sisters-in-law of the bride; and Samantha Prudhomme, friend. Makenzi Cessac, cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl.
The attendants wore biscotti floor length chiffon gowns with a lace bodice and flowing bottom layers. They carried baby’s breath bouquets wit peach ribbon. The flower girl wore an ivory floor length gown with a lace beaded bodice.
Reuel Plaisance, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Jeremy Plaisance and Jason Plaisance, brothers of the groom; and Nicky Latino and Andrew Lege, brothers-in-law. The ring bearer was Jake Plaisance, nephew of the groom.
Upon their return from a wedding cruise off the coast of Mexico, the couple will reside in Houma.
A reception was held at the Erath Community Center which was catered by Bobby and Dot’s Catering. The wedding cake was created by Selima Plaisance, groom’s cake by Lakeyn Vanasselberg and the DJ was Stephen Bergeron.
