Mrs. Joshua Manning Porter

Emily Mouledous - Joshua Porter united in marriage

Miss Emily Maria Mouledous of Baton Rouge and Mr. Joshua Manning Porter, also of Baton Rouge, were united in marriage on Friday May 13, 2016 at St. Mary Magdelen Catholic Church in Abbeville.
Father Louis J. Richard officiated the 7 p.m. nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Mouledous III of Abbeville. Her grandparents are Mr. an Mrs. Philip Mouledous, Jr., of Abbeville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ivy Matthews.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Courtland Porter of New Iberia. His grandparents are Dr. Gerald and Mrs. Betty Halphen of New Iberia and Mr. an Mrs. Henry Porter, also of New Iberia.
Music for the ceremony was performed by Tommy Guidry, organist; Will Green, trumpeter and Xiao-Lu Li, violinist. The processional was ‘Trumpet Voluntary’.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory dress with sweetheart neckline, tulle and lace overlay with crystal beading around the waistline. Her veil was a one-tier fingertip length ivory veil outline in crystals. She carried a bouquet which consisted of ivory roses, orchids and fuschia cabbage roses.
Lea Naquin, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Ashley Mouledous, Meredith Mouledous, Brandi Mouledous, Stephanie Roth, Mikaela Miller, and Danielle Gruidry. They wore navy dresses with empire waistline and layers of tulle. Each dress was unique with its own neckline. They carried bouquets consisting of ivory roses and baby’s breath.
The flower girls were Ella Claire Mouledous, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Mouledous and Caroline Mouledous, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Mouledous. They wore ivory dresses with navy sashes and held ivory rose kissing balls.
Garrett Porter served as best man. Groomsmen included Al Palmiano, Brian Beyt, Andrew Mouledous, Jonathon Smith, Jacob Porter and Paul Guidry. Ushers included Matthew Mouledous, Mark Mouledous and Robert Naquin Jr.
Immediately following the wedding, a reception was held at Magdalen Place. The bride’s cake was a four tiered almond cake with raspberry filling adorned with ivory roses.
The groom’s cupcakes were filled with bavarian chocolate and butter cream. The cupcakes resembled putting greens adorned with gold balls and putting flags.
After the wedding, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Rip Van Winkle Gardens.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School and a 2007 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a 2009 graduate of Louisiana State university Health Science Center with a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy. She is employed with Affiliated Rehabilitation in Baton Rouge.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Catholic High School of New Iberia and a 2010 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is employed with SDR Engineering, Inc.
