Mrs. Elliot Michael Broussard-

Couple united in holy matrimony

Miss Leah Elizabeth Patout and Mr. Elliot Michael Broussard of Perry, were joined in holy matrimony during a ceremony at St. Mary Magdalen Church on Friday, October 24, 2014.
The 7 p.m. wedding was officiated by Fr. Kevin Bordelon and concelebrants Fr. Mark Melancon and Deacon William Vincent.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Vickie Patout of Abbeville. Her grandparents are Gerry Dunn and the late Bobby Dunn of Abbeville, and the late Charles and Rae Patout of Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Kevin and Dana Broussard of Perry. His grandparents are Loreina and the late Joseph Broussard of Abbeville and Sue and the late Rodney Savoy.
Music for the occasion was provided by organists Tommy Guidry and Julia Boudreaux. Jared Gray, trumpeter. The processional was Trumpet in D Major by Pachelbel and the recessional was TeDeum by Charpentier. The violinist was Yang Yang Le.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant sleeveless gown featuring a scalloped neckline and back line. The beautiful fit and flare silhouette was richly embellished with ivory Chantilly embroidered lace appliques and Swarovski crystals. The classic look was made complete by a semi-cathedral train.
The bride wore a fingertip veil with Swarovski crystals and rhinestones with silver bugle beads and shiny seeds along the scalloped edge.
For her special day, the bride carried a hand tied nosegay of cream peonies and dahlias, green and beige hydrangeas with feather and berry accents. The bouquet included her mothers’s green rosary blessed by Saint John Paul II as he “something borrowed”.
Amy Patout, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Paige Patout, Janine Patout, Carrie Mouton, Jenny Bourque, Katie Reed, Jill Summers and Joanie Thompson.
The attendants wore sleeveless floor length, wine colored, satin dressed with front and back V-neck and pleated bodice. Each carried a bouquet of peonies, hydrangeas and ranunculus.
Rachel Patout, sister and godchild of the bride, served as the flower girl. She wore a winter white satin tea length dress adorned with a smocked and beaded bodice, pin-point tucks across the hem and a self tie sash at the waist.
The mother of the bride wore a navy blue chiffon gown by J Kara with an allover hand-beaded bodice with a side tie at the surplice waist.
Todd Melancon served as best man. Groomsmen included Matthew Fontenot, Brandon Duhon, Nicholas Breaux, Mitchell Schexnider, Lyle Zaunbrecher, Jason Patout, and Casey Thibodeaux.
The ring bearer was Aiden Touchet, son of Cory and Donna Touchet.
Ushers included Eric Patout, Boyd Choate and Bennett Choate.
The reception was held at Magdalen Place immediately after the wedding.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at the Abbeville Country Club on October 23, 2014.
