Couple to marry at The Gathering Place Worship Center

Travis Jude Boudreaux of Abbeville and Rev. Matthew Francis Boudreaux (formerly Matthew Ryan Packard) of Metairie will be legally married today, Sunday, July 5, 2015 at The Gathering Place Worship Center of New Orleans. Pastor Lee Thompson will officiate.
The couple met in January 2008 in Austin, Texas at The Gathering Place Worship Center of Austin. Travis was working toward his Master’s Degree in Germanic Studies. Matthew was also studying in order to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Studies.
After dating for several years, the couple chose to make a public declaration of their love in a church ceremony.
On April 24, 2010, Travis and Matthew entered into a mutual covenant as equal partners. The ceremony was held at First Christian Church in Austin and officiated by Rev. James C. Bouzard.
The couple moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in June 2011, so that Matthew could obtain ordination into the priesthood.
On July 27, 2013, Matthew was ordained a priest within the Inclusive Celtic Church. Shortly after the ordination, the couple returned to Austin. After only a year, they decided to return to their home state of Louisiana and are currently residing in Abbeville.
Following their passion for cultivating future generations, they both are currently working as educators.
