Couple exchanges vows St. Mary Magdalen

Miss Katelyn Broomfield of Winnfield, La. and Mr. Robert Bares Jr. of Abbeville were joined in holy matrimony during a ceremony held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville.
Father Matthew Barzare officiated the 1 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Conrad Broomfield, Jr., of Dodson, La. and Sarah Hastings of Winnfield, La. Grandparents are Conrad and Jamie Broomfiled, Sr. of Dodson, La., Ms. Laura Todd of Dodson, La. and the late William Todd.
Parents of the groom are Ramona LeBlanc of Maurice, La. and the late Robert Bares Sr. Grandparents are Allen and Cristina LeBlanc of Abbeville, La., Goldie Meaux of Abbeville, La. and the late John and Joyce Bares of Abbeville.
Music for the event was provided by Tommy Guidry, organist; Yang Yang Li, violinist, and Polly Martin, vocalist.
The processional song was Mouret: Rondeaux and the recessional song was Handell: La Rejoissance.
The bride wore an ivory gown ornamented with lace applique details which featured a fitted tank bodice, sweetheart neckline, tulle trumpet skirt, V-back and chapel length train. Her gown was accented with a crystal belt which highlighted the natural waist. Finishing the dress was a double tiered, fingertip length veil with a floral lace edge.
The bride carried a hand gathered bouquet of ivory garden roses and white hydrangea accented with cedar, seeded eucalyptus and pine cones tied with ivory lace.
Jesse McCarty, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. The junior bridesmaid was Elizabeth Hastings, sister of the bride.
The maid of honor wore a floor length taupe gown featuring a ruched waist and front leg slit. Corded lace illusion sweetheart neckline and an illusion V-back completed the elegant look. The junior bridesmaid wore a knee length ivory sheer chiffon dress featuring a sequin-embellished lace bodice and layers of asymmetrical ruffles on the skirt. They carried a small hand gathered bouquet of ivory garden roses and white hydrangea accented with cedar, seeded eucalyptus and pine cones tied with ivory lace.
Serving as best man was William Montgomery, friend of the groom. Ushers were Cade Perry, brother of the groom; Kerry LeBlanc, uncle of the groom; and David Treadway, uncle of the groom.
A reception dinner and dancing was held at Black’s in Abbeville.
Upon their return from a trip to Beaver Creek Resort in Avon, Colorado, the couple will reside in Abbeville.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Dodson High School and a 2011 graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. She is employed with the Vermilion Parish School Board.
The groom is a 2004 graduate Kaplan High School and a 2011 graduate of Acadiana Technical College with a degree in avaiation maintenance technology. He is employed with PHI.
