Couple exchange vows at St. Mary Magdalen Church

Miss Amber Nicole Trahan of Abbeville became Mrs. Kerry Gene Trahan during a ceremony at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville.
The couple exchanged wedding vows during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Deacon Hebert officated the nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Trahan Sr. of Abbeville. Her grandparents are the late Dua and Lovenia Trahan and the late Preston and Gladys Trahan.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Trahan of Abbeville. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ullyess Peltier of Abbeville.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry.
Readings were done by Charlene Lange, godmother of the bride, and Tammy Breaux, godmother of the groom.
Ushers included Brody Peltier, cousin of the groom; Mitchell Carbol, friend of the groom and Ryan Primeaux, friend of the groom.
The mother of the bride was escorted by Rusty Trahan, Jr. The mother of the groom was escorted by her son, Kerry Trahan.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an enchanting and elegant ivory embellished one shoulder ball gown with a chapel train. Ornate beaded lace appliques adorned the bodice and skirt.
For her bouquet, the bride carried plum and ivory flowers wrapped in burlap. The bouquet also featured purple feathers and pearls.
Hanna Dartez, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Matron of honor was Oreline Trahan, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Kimberly Romero, and Lauren Vaughen, all friends of the bride. McKenzie Cormier, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
The attendants wore one shoulder plum, long and elegant chiffon dresses. They all carried plum and ivory flowers with purple feathers wrapped in burlap.
Logan Trahan, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included James Godwin and Matt Poiencot, both friends of the groom, and Raymond Dartez, brother-in-law of the groom. Maddox Poiencot, godchild of the groom, served as the ring bearer.
A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the St. Theresa Family Life Center in Abbeville.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to Panama, Florida, the couple will reside in Abbeville.
