Stelly and Nugier wed in Abbeville
Laurisa Ann Stelly and Ned Nelson Nugier Jr. exchanged vows of marriage on August 27, 2010, at 7 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville. Father Kenneth Mayne officiated the service.
Laurisa is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randal and Laura Stelly of Forked Island.
She is the granddaughter of Clifford Stelly of Forked Island, the late Della Stelly and the late Robert and May Rose Lemaire of Forked Island.
Ned is the son of Vernadine Moneaux of New Iberia and Ned Nugier Sr. of Erath.
He is the grandson of Marylyn and Reley Moneaux of New Iberia and the late Gloria and Richard Nugier of Erath.
The bride was escorted by her father Randal Stelly.
The bride wore a white satin, side-draped, a-line dress with beaded metallic embroidered lace, lace-up back and split back with lace appliques and a chapel-length train. The bride completed her look with a two-tier, finger-tip length veil with a beaded scallop edge, beaded flowers and sequins.
The bride carried a nosegay-style bouquet with white oriental lily, white Alstromeria Peruvian lily, golden-yellow “babe” spray roses and collared with seeded eucalyptus. The mother of the bride’s rosary was intertwined throughout the bouquet.
The bride’s matron of honor was her sister Christine Guidry. Bridesmaids included cousin Nikola Derouen and friend Kathryn Hoag.
The bride’s attendants wore a strapless, chiffon, floor-length gown the color of mocha with an ivory sash creating an empire waistline.
The flower girl was godchild of the bride Jada Guidry. The ring bearer was Jackson Nugier, son of the bride and groom.
The groom’s best man was his friend Nicholas Hoag. Groomsmen included brother of the bride Toby Stelly and friend John Hungerford.
Ushers included friends of the groom Brian Mouton and Slaton Lasalle.
Readings were given by sister-in-law of the bride Danielle Stelly and niece of the bride Anita Stelly.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the St. Theresa Holy Family Center.
After the wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple plans to reside in Nunez.
