VC Lady Eagles crush Highland Baptist

The Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles were on a four game losing streak heading into Tuesday’s game at Highland Baptist.

The Lady Eagles were able to end their losing streak by steam rolling Highland Baptist 17-2, in three innings.

Kelly White led the way for the Lady Eagles on the mound by pitching all three innings, and only allowing two runs on five hits.

White and Ellen Langlinais were the top hitters for the Lady Eagles.

White was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Langlinais was also 2-for-3, and had three RBIs and two runs scored.

Zanesia Bernard, Caroline David and Mary Meaux were all 1-for-2 in the game, and combined for seven RBIs.

Katie Frith had a base hit and an RBI in her lone at bat.

The Lady Eagles are back in action this Saturday as they host district rival Hanson Memorial.

First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
