VC handles Gueydan by half time

Vermilion Catholic’s homecoming game against the Gueydan Bears was over after the first three minutes of the game.
The Eagles crushed Gueydan 53-14 on Friday in a district contest.
The Eagles scored their first points 95 seconds into the game.
Then two minutes later, VC again scored and then scored seven more points 10 seconds after scoring its second touchdown.
Three minutes into the game, the score was 20-0.
VC outgained the 2-7 Bears 393 yards to 43.
The Bears had minus 11 yards in rushing and 54 through the air.
VC, on the other hand, came out passing the football in the first three series. Hunter Frith finished the night with 191 yards after completing 8-out-of-12 passes. He also threw two touchdowns.
Backup quarterback JT Lege, who is getting a lot of playing time this season, threw for 98 yards. He was 4-for-8 and two touchdowns.
The Eagles took their opening drive and marched down field in less than a minute. Alex LeBlanc punched it in from 7 yards out. The extra point was missed and VC led 6-0.
Tyler Derouen, who leads the Eagles in receptions, hauled in a 56-yard bomb up the middle for a score. Emile Trahan nailed the extra point to make a 13-0 game.
Then on the VC kickoff, Trahan nailed the kick and it went down to the Gueydan 1/2 yard line. A Bear player thought it would roll into the end zone but it did not. It stopped at the half yard line and VC recovered it. On the next play, Kalix Broussard ran on the left side for VC's third touchdown in three minutes.
Broussard had only two carries for 12 yards and a touchdown on the night.
Alex LeBlanc led VC in rushing with 6 totes for 26 yards and a touchdown.
There were 15 different rushers for VC. Many of them only had one carry.
Derouen finished the night with three catches for 84 yards.
Payton Trahan had three receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. There were eight different Eagles with at least one catch.
VC punted only once and that was in the first period.
In the second quarter, Lege completed an 80-yard pass to Griffin Dyson and Cade Boudreaux kicked the extra point to make it a 40-6 game.
Four minutes later, Lege found Gage Broussard for a 10 yard touchdown pass and Boudreaux kicked his second extra point of the night.
VC’s Gabriel Broussard had a nine-yard TD run in the third period, which made it 53-7.
