Pirates dominate Lake Arthur 58-37
In their final game before entering the Hanson Memorial Tournament, the Kaplan Pirates looked impressive in route to a 58-37 victory Tuesday night.
Kaplan basically ended the game in the first half, jumping out to a 24-6 lead at the break. In the second half, Kaplan cruised to victory to earn their second win of the season.
Lake Arthur tried to make a comback by scoring 31 points in the second half, but they were not able to overcome the onslaught of Kaplan in the first 16 minutes of the game.
Darren Istre led the Pirates with 16 points and Nathan Bertrand and Dylan Touchet each scored 9 points.
Other scorers were: Jalen Bates (6), Hunter Stelly (6), Joseph White (6), Savion Meaux (4), Ryan Gratz (2) and Kain Broussard (1).
Tanner Cormier led Lake Arthur with 11 points and Gavin Price scored 6.
Other scorers for Lake Arthur were Kevin Achene (5), Darby Landry (4), Gavin Guidry (3), Werner Hibbits (2), Konner Bourque (2), Todd Lewis (2) and Terrell Lewis (2).
Lake Arthur’s record drops to 0-8 on the season, and Kaplan improves to 2-3.
The Hanson Tournament started Wednesday and will continue until Saturday.
