Patriots keep winning streak alive against VC

The North Vermilion Patriots and the Vermilion Catholic Eagles squared off on Saturday, and the Patriots got the better of the Eagles with a 5-1 victory.

The Patriots were led by the strong pitching performances of Donald Comeaux and Seth Patin.

Comeaux started the game, and eventually got the win, but in his three innings of work he allowed only one hit, while striking out five batters.

Patin would then come in and pitch the final four innings of the game, and only allow one run on three hits.

Patin, just like Comeaux, would strike out five Eagles batters. He would also end up getting the save.

The Patriots scored their five runs on only five hits.

Ryan Thompson led the way for the Patriots’ batters with two hits and two RBI.

Thompson’s two hits were a single and a double.

Seth Patin, Ryan Meaux and Dylan Duhon all had the other three hits for the Patriots.

The Patriots will return to action on Thursday as they take part in the Kaplan Tournament.

The Eagles will be travelling to Jena on Thursday to play in the Jena Tournament.
