Patriots get back on track

The North Vermilion Patriots were looking to rebound after dropping a much needed district game against Kaplan last Friday night.

The Patriots were able to bounce back and get a big victory over the Abbeville Wildcats by the final score of 52-37.

The only time the Patriots trailed was at the end of the first quarter. They trailed 9-8.

After getting off to a slow start, the Patriots did what they always did and played a stellar second half.

The Patriots would put up 13 points in the third quarter and 19 points in the fourth quarter.

Abbeville was nothing but consistent as they scored nine points in the first, second and fourth quarters. They scored 10 in the third.

Leading the way in scoring for the Patriots was Donald Comeaux.

Comeaux scored a game and team high 16 points.

Jordan Windmon was not far behind Comeaux as he was able to add 14 points of his own.

Nick Cooper was able to put up seven points for the Patriots.

Dade Dieterich and Tre Levy each scored five for NV.

Jawuan Windmon and Blake Turner rounded out the scoring for the Patriots as they each scored four and one points respectively.

Clements Dorsey led the way for the Wildcats in scoring with 11 points.

Jourdan Brooks was right on Dorsey’s heels, as he was able to add 10 points of his own.

Desmond Taylor scored eight points for the Wildcats, all of which came in the second half.

Trevail Briggs and Tristan Greene rounds out the scoring for Abbeville as they each scored four and two points.
