Coach Jeremy Trahan talks to his North Vermilion team between the top and bottom of an inning.
Patriots beat Spartans
Despite battling the flu bug that is making its way around the North Vermilion baseball team, the Patriots were still able to defeat the Comeaux Spartans 5-2 on Tuesday night.
“We played well,” North Vermilion Head Coach Jeremy Trahan said. “Both pitchers pitched well in the game, and it just came down to who made the least amount of mistakes. Lucky for us we were the team that made fewer mistakes.”
The Spartans committed six errors in the game, while the Patriots had only three.
Donald Comeaux led the way for the Patriots on the mound.
Comeaux picked up his fourth win of the season by pitching a complete game.
Comeaux only gave up two earned runs on seven hits.
He also struck out five Spartans, and had zero walks in the game.
Trey Broussard led the way for the Patriots from the plate.
Broussard was 2-4 with a single and a double with three RBIs.
Ty Desormeaux was also 2-4 on the day with two singles.
Seth Patin was 1-4 with an RBI.
