Demi Boudreaux hit a grand slam home run for NV. She now has 15 home runs on the year.

North Vermilion Lady Patriots cruise to playoff victory.

LEROY - A 10-run explosion in the second inning led the North Vermilion Lady Patriots to an 18-1 win in four innings over Avoyelles on Monday in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
As of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, NV was not sure what day they will play its second round playoff game.
The Lady Patriots scored in the second inning on an RBI-single by Adele Vincent, a sacrifice fly by Demi Boudreaux, a three-run home run by Kaylee Lopez, an RBI-double by Amie Vincent, an RBI single by Cydney Akers and a two-run double by Vincent in the same inning.
Vincent racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Lady Patriots.
NV pitcher Shelby Breaux looked sharp on the rubber. Breaux gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out six during her four innings of work.
The Lady Patriots didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the first inning when it scored on a two-run error and a sacrifice fly by Boudreaux.
The Lady Patriots quickly matched Avoyelles‘s strong inning with a four-run inning of its own in the fourth. The Lady Patriots scored on a grand home run by Boudreaux in the fourth inning.
Boudreaux finished with six runs batted-in on the day. Boudreaux now has an amazing 15 home runs on the year. Lopez has nine.
The team now has 37 home runs.
Elise Vincent, the lead off batter for NV, had three hits and scored four times in the game.
