LSWA Class 1A All-State team

VC’s Paul Veazey selected to All-State team, other Eagles earn honorable mention

The LSWA released their All-State selections for Class 1A, and Vermilion Catholic’s Paul Veazey was the only Eagle selected to the offensive or defensive teams.
Veazey was a catalyst on the offensive line for the Eagles strong offensive output this year. He was selected to the District 7-1A first team on offense and defense.
VC fell short of their goal of repeating as Division IV champions, losing to Madison Preparatory Academy in the second round, but the Eagles still posted a 9-1 record despite losing 15 seniors from the undefeated state championship team.
Four members of VC’s team were given honorable mention consideration: Emile Trahan, William Noegel, Hunter Frith and Tyler Derouen.
Divison IV champion Ouachita Christian and Class 1A champion Haynesville occupied most of the spots on both teams.
Elton’s Marcus Lemoine was recognized as the offensive MVP, and Haynesville’s Kendrick Jackson was selected as the defensive MVP.
Haynesville head coach David Franklin was named the coach of the year.
