Lady Patriots cruise past Thomas Jefferson

The North Vermilion Lady Patriots have made trips to the quarterfinals each of the last two seasons, and took their first step at making it three in a row with an 8-3 over Thomas Jefferson of New Orleans.
“I felt we were kind of rusty,” Lady Patriots Head Coach Richard Prejean said. “We did hit the ball pretty well. It was good for us to come out and get some good hits and string together a bunch of them. It helps our confidence to come out and hit well.”
The Lady Patriots were led at the plate by Adele Vincent.
Vincent was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three stolen bases.
Brooke Dupuy also was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
Elise Vincent and Claire Meyers were both 2-for-4. Meyers had two RBIs and Vincent had one.
Hannah Vidallier had a good day at both the plate and in the pitching circle.
Vidallier was 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate, and the she pitched all seven innings allowing only three runs on six hits.
She also managed to strike out two Thomas Jefferson batters.
The Lady Patriots will find out tonight who they will play, and it come down to the winner of Parkview Baptist-South Beauregard game.
“I’m a little worried about the rust coming back,” Prejean said. “We will have gone almost a full week without playing. It just means that we are going to have to work harder at practice to make sure we don’t get rusty again.”
The next game should be scheduled sometime late Wednesday afternoon.
