Lady Eagles win third straight
ABBEVILLE- The Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles softball team won their third straight, and moved their record up to 4-1 on the season with a 14-1 victory over district rival Ascension Episcopal, Tuesday night.
Pitcher Kelly White turned in a solid performace on the mound.
White pitched all five innings, and gave up one run on only three hits. She also struck out 10 AES batters.
Katie Frith led the charge for VC from the plate.
Frith was 3-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Zanesia Bernard and Mary Meaux both went 2-3 with two RBIs.
Leah Camel was 2-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored in the 14-1 blowout.
The Lady Eagles will now take their new 4-1 record and face off agaisnt district rival Lafayette Christian this afternoon at home.
First pitch is scheduled for four p.m.
