Kaplan steamrolls West St. Mary,18-0

The Kaplan Lady Pirates continued to stay ahead of the rest of their district 6-3A rivals by rolling over West St. Mary by the final score of 18-0 on Tuesday.
The bats came alive for the Lady Pirates to the tune of 18 runs on 20 hits in only three innings.
They scored five runs in the first, four runs in the second and nine runs to finish the game in the third inning.
Kailey Lejeune, Lindsey Schexnailder and Gabbi Meaux combined for seven of the team’s 18 RBIs.
Along with the bats, Abby Trahan pitched a solid game.
She only gave up one hit, and struck out eight of the 10 batters she faced.
This win is the fourth straight win for the Lady Pirates, and the 11th in their last 12 games.
The Lady Pirates record now stands at 16-5 overall and 6-1 in district play.
They will return to action tonight when they take on Erath at Kaplan.
