Honey Bears drop two straight

The Gueydan Honey Bears had to play games on both Thursday and Friday night, both games on the road, and after this two game stretch they are ready for a bit of a break to regroup.

The Honey Bears lost to the number one team in 1A, Central Catholic on Thursday by the final score of 58-34.

The Honey Bears ran into the same problem everyone seems to run into when the play Central Catholic, Randi Brown and Mio Kinght.

Brown scored 30 points and Knight put up 14.

As for the Honey Bears, Kiara Charles led the team with 10 points.

T’nia Leger and Sheridan were on her heels with nine and eight points respectively.

Kylie Crochet and Cheyenne LaComb rounded out the scoring for the Honey Bears on Thursday night with four and three points apiece.

Friday night was not much better for the Honey Bears as they dropped their second game in a row to Midland by the final score of 51-36.

Head coach Randall Bertrand chocked it up to the youth of his team, that was in the game at halftime.

Leading the way in scoring for the Honey Bears for the second night in a row was Kiara Charles with 11 points.

Sheridan Guidry and T’nia Leger each scored eight.

Nya Bodreaux scored seven of her own.

Ashari Terry and Kylie Crochet each scored one.
