Erath hopes to get back on track, face Wolfpack
Erath hopes to get back to their winning ways when they host the winless West St. Mary WolfPack tonight.
Erath (3-5, 1-2) have lost two straight games, most recently a 30-14 defeat at the hands of Kaplan. The team has had its ups and downs during the season, with inconsistencies at times during the season.
The duo of quarterback Ben LeBlanc and tailback Elijah Mitchell lead the offensive charge. LeBlanc has thrown for 983 yards and 12 touchdowns. Mitchell is second in the area with 711 rush yards with seven touchdowns.
Ross Granger is the primary target at receiver. The senior has caught 26 passes for 502 yards and seven scores.
West St. Mary (0-8, 0-3) has had a tough time playing a complete game this season. The team has been outscored by a wide margin over the course of the season.
“West St. Mary despite their record is always dangerous,” said Erath head coach David Comeaux. “They have great athletes and skill position kids.”
The Bobcats are ranked No. 31 in the latest LHSAA 3A polls, on the bubble of elimination from the playoffs.
The next two games are integral for Erath’s playoff hopes. Comeaux said they are taking it one game at a time.
“For us it starts up front,” he said. “Every game is determined by the offensive and defensive lines. We’re just concerned with getting better.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
