Eagles crush Harrisonburg
The Vermilion Catholic Eagles are playing in the Jena Tournament this weekend, and their first game of the tournament was against Harrisonburg.
The Eagles used a big 10 run fourth inning to beat Harrisonburg 21-1 in five innings.
Getting the victory on the mound for the Eagles was Wes Meaux, who pitched three solid innings.
In his three innings of work Meaux fanned three batters and only gave up one unearned run.
The bats are the main reason the Eagles were able to cruise to a 21-1 victory.
The Eagles were able to score 21 runs on only 10 hits.
Emile Trahan and Tyler Derouen each scored three runs apiece.
Along with those two, Brennan Gallet, Connor Menard, Jacob Sagrera Wes Meaux and Nick Smalley each scored two runs apiece.
Gallet also led the way with four RBI.
Menard and Sagrera were also able to help the Eagles out by adding three RBI.
VC over the course of the five innings were able to steal six bases.
Drake Broussard led the way with two stolen bases.
The Eagles also accrued 16 walks.
Trahan, Derouen, Menard, Sagrera and Meaux all had two walks apiece.
After this Jena Tournament the Eagles will be back in action against Kaplan on Tuesday.
