Baseball and softball seasons are in full swing
The beginning of March not only brings the promise of spring, but it also brings the promise of baseball and softball.
The seasons are already underway for all of the parish teams.
The Abbeville Lady Wildcats softball team is off to a red hot start,
The Lady Wildcats are off to a 3-0 start and have won their games by a combined 24 runs.
The Delcambre Panthers baseball team record stands at 1-2.
The Lady Panthers are off to a fast start with a 4-1 record, and their lone loss was by only one run.
The Erath Bobcats baseball are sporting a 2-1 record, and the lone loss came to University Lab by two runs.
The Lady Bobcats softball team started the season right with a win over Delcambre, but then they dropped three straight games in the Kaplan Tournament over the weekend.
The one game the Gueydan Bears have played this year, they won 21-1.
The Honey Bears season has gotten off to a rocky start. They have started the season off 0-3, but they have been competitive in each and every game so far this season.
The Kaplan Pirates baseball team is off to a slow start. They have started the season 0-3, but have losses by only two and one runs.
The Lady Pirates just saw their four game winning streak end on Sunday, but as it stands they are 4-1 on the young ball season.
The Patriots are 3-0 on the season and have dominated every game they have played in with wins of: 11-1, 14-4 and 5-1.
The Lady Patriots started the season with a win and then lost two straight but turned it around on Sunday to even their record to 2-2.
The VC Eagles started the season 2-0, but have since dropped two in a row to make their record stand at 2-2.
The Lady Eagles have yet to play a game.
