All-State track team announced

The 2014 All-State Track team has been announced, and Vermilion Parish is fortunate enough to have two athletes named to the team.
The All-State Track team is made up of all athletes from Class C all the way up to Class 5A.
Athletes make the team by their performance at the State Meets.
Kyle Zenon was named to the boys shot put, javelin and discus All-State teams.
Zenon won a state championship in all three of those events with a throw of 58-1.5 feet in the shot put, 165-0 feet in the discus throw and 186-6 feet in the javelin toss.
Zenon wasn’t the only athlete to bring back a state championship.
Sara Watson of Erath won a state championship in the pole vault competition with a vault of 11-6.
Along with winning the state championship her vault was good enough to land her on the All-State track team as well.
Congratulations to both of these outstanding performers.
