Abbeville looks towards Kaplan

The Abbeville Lady Wildcats find themselves in the middle of a three game losing streak after a 16-0 loss to district rival Notre Dame on Tuesday night.

“We played one of the best teams, if not the best team in the state,” Abbeville Head Coach Ivy Landry said. “They just hit the ball really well, and the pitcher we faced was just on her game.”

The Lady Wildcats who now have a 7-4 record overall, and 0-2 in district play, now look forward to this afternoon’s game.

This afternoon at four p.m. the Lady Wildcats will travel to square off against the Kaplan Lady Pirates.

“They are historically good,” Landry said. Shay (Herpin) does a great job with his team. We are going to go into this game with the attitude that we are going to win this game.”

The Lady Pirates are the proud owner of a five-game winning streak, and because of that streak they own a 10-4 record after an 11-3 win over Erath on Tuesday night.

“I haven’t had a chance to see a lot of Abbeville games, but I do know they are a much better team than last year’s team,” Kaplan’s Head Coach Shay Herpin said. “They are a team that can score a bunch of runs, and we have to make sure that we come
prepared to play them. If we don’t they will beat us.”

The game is scheduled to start at Kaplan’s filed this afternoon at four p.m.
