2014 track season is off and running
The 2014 Panther Relay is over and done with, and a lot of the coaches are pleased with what they saw in their first track meet of the season.
“Overall, we competed, but we still have a long way to go,” Erath Lady Bobcats Head Coach Johnathan Bouillion said. “This meet lets us know where we are, and it also lets us know what we need to improve at. I like to see where we were last year at
this time, and so far we are a little ahead of where we were last year, and that makes me happy.”
The Erath girls finished the track meet as a team in second place with 101 points.
The Erath boys team also competed well and finished the meet in third place with 52 points.
“The weather affected everyone, but we were trying to use this meet to see exactly where we are, and get some of our younger guys out there to see what they can do,” Erath Bobcats track Head Coach Kerry Richard said. “We also used this meet as a
baseline for our team. Now we know where we are, and having something to work towards now.”
A lot of other coaches were just happy to get out there and compete against someone other than their own team.
Coach Darcy Delcambre of Delcambre mentioned that this meet was one just to get everyone back in the right mind frame.
Other coaches mentioned that now this meet is under their belt they can get down to business.
