Ashlie Bernard Landry

On Thursday, December 8, 2013 during the school assembly, Dozier Elementary Principal Karla Toups announced that Ashlie Bernard Landry was the school’s 2014-15 Teacher of the Year. The surprised Kindergarten teacher was then greeted with flowers by family members on hand.
Landry is a 1998 graduate of Erath High, and a 2002 UL graduate who earned her Master's Degree from McNeese in December 2010. She began her career teaching 1/2 year at Dozier in 1st grade, then moved to Eaton Park for four years. She is currently in her 5th year at Dozier Elementary. She has taught Pre K, K and 1st grade during the years.
The dedicated teacher states on her school faculty page, “I chose to teach because of my great love for children. It is such a reward when a child has achieved a skill they have been working so hard at conquering.” She also states that “it is also in my blood, having aunts, uncles, an amazing mother, sister and nannie to follow.”
Principal Karla Toups shared that “Mrs. Ashlie is an extremely dedicated educator and Dozier Elementary is fortunate to have her.” Toups also shared that “the students, parents and community truly embrace her natural ability to make children feel at ease. Simply put, she is an effective teacher that possesses the true heart of a caring and dedicated educator.”
The next level of competition for the Dozier teacher will now be at the parish level.
Ashlie Bernard Landry is married to Clayton P. Landry of Erath. Together, they have five children: Brayden, Talen, Cohen and Kipten. She is the daughter of Kevin and Margaret Bernard of Erath.
