Savoy and Peltier united in matrimony

Megan Elizabeth Savoy and Giles Everette Peltier were united in matrimony on Saturday, February 20, 2010, during a ceremony at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice. Father Joseph O. Breaux officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Kip and Mary Derouen of Maurice and the late Michael Savoy. She is the granddaughter of Alga Landry and the late Paul Ray Landry of Maurice; and John and Virginia Savoy of Sunset; and Annie Derouen and the late Jeffrey Derouen of Maurice. She is a graduate of North Vermilion High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently a NICU nurse at Lafayette General Hospital.

The groom is the son of Charles and Julie Peltier of Meaux. He is the grandson of Ulysse and Joyce Peltier and Roland and Fanny Broussard. He is a graduate of North Vermilion High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is currently employed by Neff Rental as a Sales Representative.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory Maggie Sottero strapless, A-line gown. The gown featured Alenion Lace adorned with sparkling sequins and beading. The neckline was enhanced with scalloped edging, while a gold satin ribbon and glistening brooch accented the waist.

Maid of Honor was Shaylyn Broussard. Bridesmaids for the ceremony included Natalie Broussard, Amanda Meaux, Sahylie Peltier, April Holleman and Shawnie Perrero. The Flower Girl for the wedding was Ellie Goutierrez, cousin of the bride.

The Best Man was Justin Peltier. Groomsmen included Clint Savoy, Bryant Denais, Jimmy Soileau, Brody Peltier and Trey Seaton. Ushers for the event were Ryan Mathers and Tristan “Lou” Hebert.

Reading were given by Joanie Touchet, godmother of the bride and Tessie Trahan, godmother of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Erath Community Center. After returning from a honeymoon trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Maurice.
