ABBEVILLE – A home going celebration will be held for Stella M. Harris on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Congregational Church – 213 South Louisiana Street – Abbeville, LA. Immediately following the service, she will be laid to rest in St. Mary Congregational Church Cemetery on Prairie Street. Pastor Kevin Williams will officiate the service.
Stella M. Harris, 68, was a long time resident of Abbeville and an active member of St. Mary Congregational Church.
She is survived by her children, Anthony Harris (Ainsley) of Kentucky; Derek Harris and Dwight Harris of Abbeville, LA; and Keesha Harris of Lafayette, LA; sisters, Mary Robinson (Houston), Verna Parker (Marvin). Marilyn Wright (Morris) of Abbeville, LA; two brothers, Roy Harris, Jr. of Abbeville, LA; and Rev. Lloyd Joiner, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Florence Parker, father, Roy Harris, Sr. and sister, Lillie M. Parker.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St, Mary Congregational Church from 8:00 A.M. until time of service.
