KAPLAN—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Mission Chapel honoring the life of Roland Paul Trahan, 62, who died Monday, October 20, 2014 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Broussard Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Nella Sayer Trahan of Kaplan; one son, Eraste Trahan and his wife, Mindy of Griffin, GA; two daughters, Kathy Lynn Roberts of Austell, GA and Samantha and her husband, Faustino Martinez of Griffin, GA; six step-children; two sisters, Editha Campbell of Abbeville and Joyce and her husband, Preston “Buzz” Gaspard of Kaplan; three brothers, Odeon Trahan of Erath, Raymond Trahan and his wife, Juanita of Rogersville, TN, and George Trahan and his wife, Clifteen of Meaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eraste Trahan and the former Orelian Fontenot; one brother, Ray Allen Trahan; and one sister, Mary Ann Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
