Robert John Fontenot, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Robert John Fontenot, Sr., 73, who passed away on February 20, 2016.
Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor will celebrate the Mass.
Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Robert, a resident of Maurice, was the son of the late Clemence Fontenot, Sr. and the former Agnes Hebert.
He is survived by his four children, Marcia Fontenot Trahan and her husband, Leonard, Selena Fontenot Cormier, Robert John Fontenot, Jr. and his wife Jeanne and Kendal Wayne Fontenot and his wife, Krista; grandchildren, Morgan Trahan, Clinton Trahan, Raymond Cormier, III, Katelyn Cormier, Jacob Fontenot, Jennifer Fontenot, Austin Roussell, Travis Hargrave, Nicole Cormier and Brittany Hoffpauir; great grandchildren, Jaydon Heckford, Landon Heckford, Braedon Heckford, Dawson Trahan, Melanie Trahan and Ry'Leigh Hoffpauir; siblings, Dallas Fontenot, Marjorie Fontenot, May Rose Abshire, Joyce Istre and Jane Landry as well as numerous neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 52 years, Mary Sonnier Fontenot, granddaughter Kiersten Elaine ("KiKi") Fontenot and brothers Mervis "Joe" Fontenot and Clemence "June" Fontenot, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Monday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Robert John Fontenot, Jr., Kendal Wayne Fontenot, Clinton Ryan Trahan, Jacob Daniel Fontenot, Austin Roussell and Todd Landry.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Raymond Cormier, III.
Robert retired from LSU Medical Center after 25 years of service. He loved to fish, ride his 4-wheeler and was an avid LSU fan.
